Swapping a pair you have rotated out
Size first, and say which sizing you mean. It is the fact that decides whether anything else matters, and naming the region as well as the number saves everybody a conversation.
Describe the wear the way you would want it described to you. Sole, upper, heel, and whether they have been cleaned: an honest account reaches somebody who wants a wearable pair, which is most people.
Say what came with them. Original box, spare laces, the receipt if you still have it — those extras are part of what a collector is swapping for, and mentioning them puts your pair ahead of an identical one without.
Photograph both shoes from the side, the soles, and the box label if you have it. Give the size, the colourway and how often they have been worn. Then say which pairs you are looking for and in what size, so a match is obvious at a glance.

You list a pair you are ready to move on and say what you would like instead. We introduce you when somebody wants yours and has something on your list, so you are only ever talking to people who already want what you have.
Yes, and most swaps here are worn pairs. Describe the condition plainly and photograph the soles, and you will reach somebody who wants them for their feet rather than for a display case.
Each side gets a band from what the items are and how many people want them, and you both see the same reading. Where a pair is unusual we widen the band rather than pretend to be certain, and you can always add a small item to close a gap.

If we are not confident, the band gets wider rather than more precise.
